Tata Motors is gearing up for the launch of the all-electric Harrier EV, which was first revealed in its production form at the Auto Expo 2025. Now, ahead of its official debut, the SUV has been spotted testing on Indian roads without any camouflage, giving us a closer look at what to expect.
Fresh Look with EV-Specific Design

The test mule was seen sporting a dual-tone white and black exterior. While it maintains the signature Harrier silhouette, there are some key differences setting the EV apart. The front fascia features a closed-off grille and a redesigned bumper with vertical slats, reminiscent of the Tata Nexon EV. The side profile highlights newly designed aerodynamic alloy wheels, adding to its futuristic appeal. Interestingly, this test unit did not have the ‘.EV’ badge on the front doors, but it is likely to be included in the final production model. At the rear, the changes are subtle, with a tweaked EV-specific bumper completing the look.
Interior and Features

Inside, the Harrier EV mirrors the diesel-powered version with a 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system and a four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo. The dashboard layout remains unchanged from what was showcased at the Auto Expo, but the EV version gets a distinct dual-tone black and white theme, as opposed to the variant-based color schemes of the regular Harrier.
Apart from this, the Harrier EV is expected to offer a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless charger, and dual-zone climate control. One of the standout features is the summon mode, allowing users to move the vehicle forward and backward using just the key fob.
Advanced Safety Features

Safety is expected to be a priority in the Harrier EV, with features likely to include up to seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, and Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), enhancing both convenience and security.
Powertrain and Range

Tata has confirmed that the Harrier EV will come with a dual-motor setup and an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, making it one of the brand’s most capable electric SUVs. It is also expected to house a large battery pack, offering an estimated driving range of over 500 km on a single charge. Alongside the AWD variant, a more affordable single-motor version could also be introduced.
Expected Pricing and Launch
With an estimated starting price of around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom), the Tata Harrier EV will take on other premium electric SUVs in the market. As testing continues, an official launch is expected in the coming months.
